Skin Irritation Test

What Does Irritation Mean?

Irritation can be defined as the condition on the mucosa and skin caused by irritant causes.

Why Are Irritation Analyzes Done?

Irritation caused by irritation of the skin and mucosa should be investigated especially in the use of biocidal and cosmetic products. Irritation tests performed within the scope of biocompatibility tests are the tests performed for the classification and labeling of chemical substances and their mixtures.

What are the Symptoms of Skin Irritation?

Irritation tests are generally based on determining the irritation and skin sensitivity potential of biocidal products. In the tests, the reactions of the products when they are used once, repeatedly or continuously are measured. Reactions such as redness, swelling and inflammation can be seen on the skin.

Since categorized biocidal products such as disinfectants, preservatives and pest control are applied to surfaces that people touch or directly to the skin, irritation tests should be performed.

Irritation testing procedures are generally based on exposing a reconstructed human epidermis (RhE) model to a pure test chemical and then determining a cell viability.

In our laboratories serving in many parts of Turkey, the "Irritation Test" is carried out in accordance with the legal regulations and standards related to TÜRKAK accreditation.
