Ash Analysis Insoluble in Hydrochloric Acid

One of the important test parameters performed in food and feed is the test method known as "Determination of Ash Insoluble in Hydrochloric Acid".

The purpose of the test method; It is the determination of the amount of ash insoluble in acid by reacting with HCl acid solution of total ash in food and feed samples. Especially with the analysis of raw ash, the total amount of mineral substances in the feed is determined. The external addition of dicalcium phosphate, limestone and similar mineral feeds to compound feeds are indigestible parts of the animal organism and HCl is detected as ash insoluble in acid.

In addition to these, it is possible to detect parts such as dust, soil, sand mixed with food. The detection of such substances is considered a quality criterion. The analysis results of "Determination of Ash Insoluble in Hydrochloric Acid" are evaluated on the basis of the relevant communiqués prepared by the Turkish Food Codex.

The amount of insoluble ash in the test samples should be at most 1%.
