Aflatoxins, which are secondary metabolites of fungi such as Aspergillus flavus and A. Parasiticus, can be found in grain products such as rice, peanuts, corn flour and soybean meal. Aflatoxin B1 contaminated with food and feed threatens human and animal health. Aflatoxin B1 toxicity can vary from the degree to which it affects the immune system to the induction of teratogenic, mutagenic and carcinogenic activities, which are classified as carcinogenic (Group 1) under IARC (International Agency for Research on Cancer).
