Determination of Conductivity

The numerical expression of the conductivity of an aqueous solution is defined as Conductivity. Water without a net charge can conduct electric current well with the presence of impurities and dissolved substances. The conductivity of water is determined depending on the following conditions.

  • Total and relative concentrations of ions in water
  • Mobility
  • Values
  • Measurement temperature

With the conductivity measured in water, the amount of ions in the water can be determined. The conductivity also varies depending on the purity of the water. The degree of conductivity in water is measured with a conductimeter. It is possible to determine the purity and quality of the water by the conductivity of the water.
