Inositol, or rather myo-inositol, is a carbocyclic sugar abundant in the brain and other mammalian tissues; It mediates cell signaling in response to various hormones, neurotransmitters and growth factors and participates in osmoregulation. Inositol, which is used in the production of energy drinks, is limited to a certain limit within the scope of the "Turkish Food Codex Communiqué on Energy Drinks". The amount of inositol required in energy drinks should be 100 mg/L.
Substances such as caffeine, inositol, glucoronolactone or taurine can only be used in energy drinks according to the Turkish Food Codex Energy Drinks Communiqué. Thus, there are two different reasons for "Determination of Inositol" in energy drinks:
Determination of the compliance of the amount of inositol with the notification
Rejection of the use of inositol in soft drink production
"Inositol Determination" can be carried out in accredited and authorized Food Analysis Laboratories in line with the above-mentioned items.
