This ion, whose chemical formula is SO4²-, is known as salts or esters of sulfuric acid (H₂SO₄). It is formed by the combination of one sulfur atom and four oxygen atoms. Although it occurs naturally in many minerals, it has a wide range of uses in industrial applications.
