EN 14683: Medical face masks - Requirements and test methods
With the corona virus outbreak, the use of masks was made mandatory. However, the masks to be used must pass certain tests and analyzes within the scope of the EN 14683 standard.
Mask types within the scope of EN 14683 standard:
EN 14683 standard covers the tests performed on Type I, Type II, Type IIR medical masks.
Type I Medical Face Masks: These are the masks used to prevent the spread of microorganisms in epidemic and pandemic situations.
Type II Medical Face Masks: These are the masks generally used by healthcare professionals in medical settings such as operating rooms.
Type II and Type IIR medical face masks are the masks that are generally evaluated according to their splash resistance used for healthcare professionals.
