GB/T 15107: Safety Standards for Athletic Footwear
Requirements for Athletic Footwear under Chinese Standards
Scope of GB/T 15107 Standard
GB/T 15107 covers many important elements for athletic footwear. These include product design, use of materials, durability, comfort and general safety requirements. The standard guides the design and manufacture of footwear for athletes and users to achieve maximum performance in different activities. Here are the main headings of the GB/T 15107 standard:
- Material Safety and Health: The materials used in athletic footwear must be harmless to health. Shoes should not contain toxic chemicals, substances that can cause allergic reactions or materials that can cause damage when in contact with the skin. Environmental friendliness of the materials used should also be a priority.
- Shoe Structure and Durability: The exterior, interior and sole of the shoe should be designed to remain robust even under heavy use. Both the upper and the sole should be resistant to impact and extreme pressure. This is essential for athletes to be able to exercise more safely and comfortably.
- Comfort and Fit: Athletic shoes should fit the athlete and offer a comfortable fit. The internal design of the shoe should be suitable for the foot structure and should not cause discomfort during prolonged use. The shape of the shoe should be compatible with the requirements of the sport and the anatomy of the foot.
- Non-slip and Ground Grip: The sole of the athletic shoe should hold the ground well and prevent slipping. This feature increases safety, especially in sports such as running, basketball and soccer. The materials and patterns used on the sole of the shoe reduce the risk of falling by holding the ground firmly.
- Shock Absorption and Support: The sole of the shoe should have shock-absorbing properties and support the ankle and joints during impact with the ground. This is especially important for people who play high-impact sports. Shock absorption is an important factor in preventing leg and back injuries.
