Turkish Food Codex Bee Products

Ministry of Agriculture and Forestry Published the Turkish Food Codex Bee Products Communiqué!

Bee Products Communiqué, first published by the Ministry of Agriculture and Forestry on April 25, 2024; It includes the issues regarding the technical and hygienic production, preparation, processing, preservation, storage, transportation and placing on the market of bee (Apis mellifera L.) products within the scope of this scope.

The products subject to regulations within the scope of the Communiqué are as follows;
- Bee bread, placed on the market as food or food supplement,
- Bee pollen,
- Royal jelly,
- Raw propolis,
- Propolis,
- Powdered royal jelly
- Dried pollen

Products to be used in applications in the Regulation on Traditional and Complementary Medicine Practices It is not within the scope of this notification.

The products in the scope must comply with the Turkish Food Codex additives, contaminants, pesticide residues, veterinary drug residues, microbiological criteria regulations. According to Annex-1, no external substances can be added to these products. The desired features of the products should be as follows.
