NMKL 124 - Determination of p-Hydroxy Benzoates in Foods

Within the scope of the NMKL 124 method, the quantitative determination of p-hydroxybenzoic acid esters is performed.

Detection of the following p-Hydroxy Benzoates in fruits and jams using HPLC-DAD Method is carried out with the NMLK 124 test method.
- methyl p-hydroxybenzoate (MHB): used as a preservative in foods, beverages, cosmetics, topical preparations and parenteral solutions.
- ethyl p-hydroxybenzoate (EHB): used as an antiseptic in cosmetics, food and medicine.
- isopropyl p-hydroxybenzoate (IPHB): It is a preservative used to increase shelf life.
