Today, reasons such as increasing health problems and environmental pollution have led people to turn to natural and organic products. Organic product production has attracted more attention especially in the food sector.
Organic products are especially preferred for child nutrition. Organic product prices are above normal. This is because, in general, foods are products that are more easily spoiled and produced with less efficiency, based on their shelf life.
Organic product within the scope of the "Regulation on Principles and Application of Organic Agriculture"; It is defined as a certified product in raw, semi-finished or finished form produced in accordance with the principles of organic agriculture activities.
Production of organic produce starts in the field. Pesticides and similar chemicals are not used when producing organic products. Afterwards, the organic product is either directly packaged and offered for sale, or it is processed and packaged without adding any additives and without applying a chemical process.
More important issue than the production of organic products is certification. Organic products must pass certain tests and inspections and be certified and put on the market in this way.
Certification of organic product production; It is a certification process in which every stage of the product such as harvest, processing, storage, packaging is inspected and made as a result of inspection. "Organic Product Certification" is carried out not only by testing on the product but also based on business controls.
Within the scope of the Regulation on the Principles and Application of Organic Agriculture, substances and products that can be used in the production of processed organic foods are listed. Food production should be made and documented in line with the articles specified in the regulation.
