TS EN 1122 provides a method for precisely determining the amount of cadmium present in plastics. Cadmium can be used as a stabilizer or pigment in the production of some plastics. However, due to the adverse effects of cadmium on human health, the cadmium content in such products is strictly regulated. The main objective of the standard:
The TS EN 1122 standard is used to measure the cadmium content of plastic materials and components. Areas of application include
TS EN 1122 standard is a test method used to determine the total amount of cadmium in plastics containing cadmium in the range of 10 mg Cd / kg to 3000 mg Cd / kg. The total amount of cadmium within the scope of the standard is carried out using the wet digestion method.
The method within the scope of the standard is not applied to polyfluorinated plastic materials. Wet decomposition of organic compounds in plastic products and dissolution of cadmium compounds in a sample, atomization of a solution in the flame of an atomic absorption spectrophotometer and measurement of absorbance at a wavelength of 228.8 nm.
a) Health and Safety: Controls the toxic effects of cadmium. Ensures that consumers are offered safe products.
b) Environmental Protection: Reduces cadmium pollution in the recycling process of plastic waste. Prevents pollution of soil and water resources.
c) International Compatibility: TS EN 1122 complies with other international regulations as well as the European Union. It increases the acceptability of products in the global market.
d) Industrial Guidance: Guides plastic producers in material selection. Facilitates quality control of raw materials and products.
Nanolab Laboratories Group continues to provide services within the scope of Cadmium Determination for Plastics. We also provide services on Determination of Lead Release with Artificial Saliva Solution.
