The World Food Programme (The World Food Programme) is a program that aims to implement a food safety and quality management system (FSQMS) and continuously improve food safety and quality along the entire supply chain.
The system aims to reduce and prevent problems along the supply chain from farmers/suppliers to consumers. Customer satisfaction is also emphasized throughout this system, with measures to ensure the safety, nutritional quality and acceptability of the food delivered. In addition to food acceptability by clients, WFP is committed to ensuring that donors and partners ensure that the implementation of this system guarantees high efficiency, quality processing and distribution of their contributions.
The World Food Programme (WFP) is the United Nations' frontline agency in the fight against global hunger. Founded in 1961, WFP provides food assistance to those suffering from hunger due to emergencies such as conflicts, natural disasters and economic hardship. WFP not only provides food assistance, but also works on long-term solutions to tackle food insecurity through nutrition programs, agricultural support and resilience-building initiatives.
Its programs include food distribution, cash-based assistance and nutrition support to vulnerable populations. In recent years, WFP has faced increasing challenges, including an alarming increase in hunger caused by protracted conflict and climate shocks. The 2024 Global Report on Food Crises estimates that around 343 million people worldwide face food insecurity. The organization estimates that $16.9 billion is needed to meet urgent food aid needs in the coming year.
Inspection related to food management will include a detailed examination of all or part of the shipment of food produced, goods stored, transportation and handling methods, storage building and storage and pest control standards.
Inspection of goods may involve taking and analyzing samples.
